Who’s going bowling?
With six players from the Seattle Seahawks being named to last years NFC Pro-Bowl team, I thought I would take a look at who might make the team for this up-coming season.
Just a side note. Espn has reported Roger Goodell is “strongly considering” suspending the game in 2013, but NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said “No determination has been made yet.”
We’ll just proceed as if there will be one. Of course I am expecting much of the same from our defensive back corps who got the nod last year.
Just think how good our new helmet will look with the NFC Pro-Bowl blue jersey to go with it.
This year I am predicting RB Marshawn Lynch will take his Beast Mode all the way to being named the NFC’s starting RB, and his battering ram Michael Robinson will be right there with him. A starting backfield for the Hawks!
The shoe ins
As I said above, I expect Lynch, and Robinson to be there again this year, but this time without the reserve tag in front of their names. Robinson has been more than a blessing for the Hawks after taking over for Seahawk legend Mack Strong.
I envision his game to stay on par, even though from a stats approach, the FB position is not a glamorous one, Robinson is by far the best blocking back in the game.
The other three players who I think will be there are SS Kam Chancellor, CB Brandon Browner, and FS Earl Thomas. Chancellor and Browner were pleasant surprises for the defense, this year they will be taken a lot more seriously though.

The hopefuls
The man with the golden boot, P Jon Ryan will probably get another mention, but let’s hope this season he’s not having to punt the ball away for us with the same regularity again.
I’m going out on a limb here and saying the rookie LB Bobby Wagner will get his name on the reserve list. A big kid with a lot of heart, just what the Seahawks need on defense.
I think that G Deuce Lutui will have a stellar year being paired with Pete Carroll again. It’s tough to get honorable mention while playing in Arizona, but I think this move to Seattle will jump start his career.
Big Game Baldwin, WR Doug Baldwin I think will continue to build on his impressive rookie season, and continue to be the go to guy for the Seahawks in a variety of ways. He gets in on special teams though.
The numbers
Last year Marshawn Lynch had 1,204 yds and 12 TD’s, this year I think those numbers will climb to near 2,000 yds and at least 15 TD’s, no way he comes close to Shaun Alexander’s TD mark, but there will be a huge increase if the O line stays healthy.
Doug Baldwin should increase his numbers to around 1,000 yds receiving and 8 TD’s, that is if new QB Matt Flynn likes him as his primary target.
On defense, Chancellor, Browner, and Thomas will all be in the 70’s with tackles, cementing their spots on this years squad, and I predict Wagner to add at least 45-50 tackles at the line backer position, hopefully among the league leaders for rookies.
Last years team was led by its defense, this year I think it will be more of the same.
With additions of Lutui, and Flynn, the offense should make huge strides over last years second half explosion. Plus, a confident Lynch, who finally got paid, should have a great year on the ground.
